Can you relate your knowledge and understanding of Indirect Teaching methods - to your own life and experiences? Have you experienced a good demonstration of Indirect Teaching - at school, at home and/or in an extracurricular activity? Did knowledge and/or experience of good Indirect Teaching - ever help you when working with others? Have you ever experienced an incident where a demonstration of Indirect Teaching did not help you? Can you see a direct relationship to your understanding of Indirect Teaching and your own teaching? Explain your experience in detail - underlining what you learned and its relationship to your understanding of Indirect Teaching to your own experiences and career goals.



  • How can you apply the principles of Indirect Teaching to the preparation of your In-Class Micro-teaching? In our class, we will be developing our own Professional Communities - to complete our 2 Microteaching assignments - and to learn from each other. How can you apply your knowledge of Indirect Teaching - and specifically, the principles and components of "teaching via games and puzzles" and "teaching 'out of the box" - to your the preparation of your 2 Microteaching assignments for your Professional Learning Community? Finally, what knowledge and understanding of these concepts - Domains of Learning, Instructional Objectives, Direct Teaching, Presentation Skills, and Questioning Skills and now, Indirect Teaching - can you apply to the preparation and instruction of your own EDG 4410 Microteach lessons?

5. Although you don't have to create a rough draft of your Microteach II lesson plan for this week, do read over the information below so that you get a feel for what this lesson and lesson plan are to be like. I will be discussing Microteach 2 in class this week.

If you look for a suitable lesson plan for Microteach II, you might search using some of the following key terms: indirect teach, inquiry, discovery teach, problem solving teach, simulation, debate, discussion, etc.

You might also want to check out the Teaching Channel website, which has tons of helpful resources.

Remember, Microteach II is to have a lot of student involvement,

Within your procedures, you might include many of the questions you intend to ask.

I highly recommend that you include them exactly where you will be asking them in your procedures.

In your lesson plan, you will also need to identify at least one strategy as an ESOL strategy.
